Dr Howard Lloyd

Howard Lloyd is a specialist endodontist with over 30 years of clinical experience. After establishing his own specialist practice from scratch in Maidenhead, which he ran for almost 20 years, he continued his career in specialist practice in central London. He is a Past President of the British Endodontic Society.
Alongside clinical practice, Howard has held teaching appointments and has lectured extensively to dentists, postgraduate students and specialist audiences in the UK and internationally. His particular interests include diagnosis, treatment planning, case selection and the management of challenging endodontic problems.
His teaching combines current evidence with insights gained from decades of clinical experience, emphasising clinical judgement, effective decision-making and patient-centred care. He enjoys sharing practical lessons learned from colleagues, mentors, people from a wide range of backgrounds, and through his own successes and failures in practice, with the aim of helping clinicians navigate the challenges and uncertainties of endodontic treatment.

Through cases, discussion and insights gleaned from colleagues, mentors and fields beyond dentistry, he examines judgement, decision-making and avoiding common pitfalls.
