Esther Freud
Esther Freud is the author of nine novels, the first of which, Hideous Kinky, was made into a film starring Kate Winslett. She has written plays, short stories and articles, and in 2019 was made a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. I Couldn’t Love You More, her most recent book, was published in May.
Esther’s talk is about the power of memory and stories, and how she has used her own experience, family history, and research for the basis of her novels. How passionately an idea can take hold, so that everything is relevant to the subject, as if the world is conspiring to help in the task of uncovering the tale.

Summary of Presentation
Treatment of young permanent teeth with pulp involvement represents both an endodontic and a restorative challenge. In this presentation, treatment options for non-vital teeth with open apices will be discussed. Although revascularization has been recommended as a promising alternative to the MTA barrier technique, there are still limitations, which might result in an unpredictable outcome. In contrast, there is substantial evidence of the favorable outcome of immature teeth treated with the MTA barrier technique.
Marga Ree has practiced endodontics since 1998 and recently undertook a recall of all her trauma patients, of which she was able to recall 80%. She will compare the apical plug technique with regenerative endodontic procedures and discuss pros and cons of both treatment modalities. A variety of cases with long-term follow-ups will be presented.
