Specialist Endodontist or DWSI - Bedford
A well-established, reputable, 6-surgery private practice in Bedford is seeking a skilled and passionate endodontic specialist — or a dentist with a special interest in endodontics — to join our team.
We currently have two dentists working 2 days a week solely treating endodontic patients under microscope. Due to one of our endodontic dentists relocating, we have availability — ideally Thursdays — for a motivated clinician to step into a well-supported, established role.
This role involves working 2–3 days per month to help manage a high referral rate and address a long waiting list for endodontic treatment. The role
This Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor role represents an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to ongoing teaching of dental students while being well supported by a collegial and dynamic Faculty and University.
Key tasks for this position include:
- Conducting research-informed teaching across a range of courses in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry programmes.
- Contributing to curriculum design for undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research.
- Undertaking research resulting in quality-assured publications within the discipline, either individually or as part of a group.
- Contributing to the running of the Department, School, Division and the University.
Your skills and experience
The successful candidate must be a dentist who is registerable with the Dental Council (New Zealand) in the endodontic specialist scope of practice.
The successful candidate will have:
- A record of internationally peer-reviewed published research.
- Excellent teaching skills at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- A collaborative and collegial approach to work.
- Full understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the University's Māori Strategic Framework.
It would be preferred that the successful candidate also holds a PhD or equivalent.

The salary range for this position is (per annum):
- Lecturer $98,583 to $120,528
- Senior Lecturer $148,416 to $184,993
