Harty Essay Prize

The prize will be open to any undergraduate dental student in a dental school within the United Kingdom or a dental graduate from one of these schools who has been on the Dentist’s Register for no more than one year on 30th June in each year of application.  Only the name of the winner will be published. Read More.


Pitt-Ford Undergraduate Prize in Endodontology

Awarded annually to a final year undergraduate student from each of the UK based dental schools. The prize consists of a year’s free membership of the BES, a certificate of merit and free registration at the BES Spring Scientific meeting during the year of membership. The winner from each school will be nominated by the head of endodontic teaching at that school. Read More.


Undergraduate Research Prize

The British Endodontic Society wishes to encourage the new generation of dentists to get involved in research early on in their careers. We offer a new annual national award to the best undergraduate research project in the field of Endodontology submitted by a dental undergraduate student. Read More.


The Foundation Dentist Prize

Greater understanding of the art and science of endodontics is essential if patients are to benefit from the many advances in treatment which are now available. To this end, the Society has always nurtured close links with General Practitioners who carry out the vast majority of endodontic treatment in the United Kingdom. Read More.


Early Career Prize in Endodontology

The prize is open to any member of the BES, who has been on the GDC register for up to five years.  This prize is not open to Foundation Dentists in their first training year (DF1).  Those members who have completed or are on Taught Masters programs in Endodontics are not eligible to enter. Read More.


Aspiring Endodontic Researcher

At the British Endodontic Society we wish to encourage research at an early stage in a dentist’s career.  The BES Early Careers Group offers a new annual award for the best systematic review or research project in the field of Endodontology submitted by an Early Careers Dentist. Read More.


The General Dental Practitioner Prize

General dental practitioners form the largest proportion of the BES membership.  This group of clinicians performs the vast majority of endodontic treatment in the United Kingdom.  The award supports the development of endodontic skills and knowledge amongst our “frontline” clinicians. Read More.


BES Poster Prize

As a result of COVID-19 and the subsequent cancellation of the Spring Scientific Meeting 2020, and the Regional Meeting 2020 being an online event, the 2020 BES Poster Prize was cancelled.  Unfortunately, in early 2021, the situation with Covid 19 is still causing uncertainty, and so the 2021 Spring Scientific Meeting has now been moved to Thursday 14th October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford Upon Avon. The BES has introduced this new award to recognise and reward the outstanding skills of endodontic teachers based at UK dental schools.  The winner of the award will have been nominated for their dedication to the delivery of endodontic education to their students; inspiring a desire to pursue excellence in endodontics throughout their careers.
