The sad passing of Dr Mark Hunter and Celebration of Life Service with Streaming of Service information

Streaming of Service on Monday 13th March at 12.15 hrs

Dear BES Members

It is with a very heavy heart that I relay the sad news that Dr Mark Hunter (President 2019-2020), has passed away at home on Tuesday surrounded by his loving family. Mark gave his valuable time over many years to the work of the Society and was on its Council from 2007 to 2022.  He was loved by all who crossed his path, and they remember him for his passion for Endodontics as well as running around with his camera taking photos of the prizewinners and speakers!  He always made time for anyone who needed it and no job was ever too small. There were numerous virtual meetings at which he would famously go off on a tangent and after some time return to the subject at hand, but en route remind us all why we loved Endodontics! He was an inspirational teacher to the undergraduates at Manchester as well as postgraduates, dentists, colleagues and friends that surrounded him. We were lucky to have known him and luckier to call him a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Di, and his children during this very difficult time.

We miss you Mark. Rest in Peace
Maria Lessani, President

It would help us enormously to have an idea of how many people would like to attend. Please RSVP to Annabel at the BES at admin@britishendodonticsociety.org.uk  by the 1st of March to let us know if you are able to join us.

There will be family flowers only. Throughout Mark's journey, he has been supported by The Christie Hospital and in particular the Palatine Ward. If you would like to support the Christie Hospital then please make a donation on the day via Dewey’s donation boxes.

With good wishes
