Synopsis
This session examines how advances in endodontic microsurgery and bone grafting expand treatment possibilities, showcasing clinical techniques that enhance predictability, preserve teeth, and redefine the limits of surgical endodontics.
Aims
• Provide an in-depth overview of current advancements in endodontic microsurgery, including instrumentation, magnification, and biocompatible materials.
• Highlight how modern microsurgical and grafting techniques can improve clinical predictability and expand the boundaries of tooth preservation.
• Illustrate, through clinical case examples, the practical application and outcomes of long apical retropreparations, primary microsurgery, and bone grafting in complex endodontic cases.
• Encourage clinicians to adopt evidence-based, minimally invasive surgical strategies that enhance patient outcomes and confidence in managing challenging scenarios.
Objectives
• Understand how advancements in microsurgical techniques, materials, and magnification enhance the predictability of endodontic surgery.
• Recognise the clinical situations in which bone grafting can improve outcomes in cases with extensive periapical bone loss.
• Apply evidence-based decision-making to expand treatment options and provide minimally invasive, effective alternatives to extraction.
